Richard Cabral is an Mexican-American actor, producer, writer and activist best known for his roles on “Mayans M:C”, “Lethal Weapon” and for the ABC television series “American Crime”, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2015 for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie”.



His Story
Richard’s career began with the help of “Homeboy Industries”, the largest gang-intervention program based in Los Angeles which helped him audition and land his first role. In 2009. He began to act, appearing in the television show “Southland” and has since continued being involved in projects such as “Key and Peele”, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, “Bosch”, and “Chicago Fire” as well as the upcoming Peacock TV Series “Twisted Metal”, starring Anthony Mackie, Will Arnett and Thomas Haden Church.
His film career includes projects starring some of the biggest names in the industry such as “Blood Father” (with Mel Gibson), “The Counsellor” (with Penélope Cruz, Brad Pitt, and Javier Bardem), “End of Watch” (with Jake Gyllenhaal), “Snitch” (with Dwayne the Rock Johnson), “Peppermint” (with Jennifer Garner) as well as appearing in music videos for artists such as Bruno Mars.
Cabral is also an activist, using his platform to regularly speak on issues relating to drug use, deportation and immigration as well as gang related issues and prison reform. Most recently, he was invited to speak with the Huther Doyle Foundation in Rochester, NY for their Drug and Rehabilitation Program.
Co-founding “Tepito Coffee” – a Mexico-focused coffee shop and brand, Cabral partners up with Homeboy Industries for staffing within Tepito Coffee’s Los Angeles operation, aiming to improve lives and communities domestically by breaking cycles of incarceration.
